Housekeeping Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at the Verdala Wellness Hotel-AX Privilege. Reporting to the Head Housekeeper, the ideal candidate will be passionate about maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation, with strong leadership and communication skills. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will support the Head Housekeeper in overseeing the housekeeping team, ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas meet our rigorous cleanliness standards. You will also assist with staff training, monitor performance, manage daily schedules, and help foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the housekeeping team, including scheduling, task assignments, and providing ongoing training and guidance to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with hotel standards and regulations. Address deficiencies promptly and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Manage housekeeping supplies, equipment, and amenities by overseeing ordering, stocking, and inventory control. Ensure sufficient supplies are available to meet operational needs and guest requests.
- Continuously improve housekeeping processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices to streamline workflow and control costs.
- Ensure guest rooms are consistently prepared and maintained to the highest standards, exceeding guest expectations. Address guest concerns or special requests related to housekeeping services in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Maintain a safe environment for both housekeeping staff and guests by addressing potential hazards.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as front office, maintenance, and guest services, to coordinate housekeeping efforts and support overall hotel operations.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to resolve operational issues or respond to guest feedback.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to support training and development of housekeeping staff.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and health and safety regulations.
- Reporting and problem-solving skills to assist the Head Housekeeper effectively.
- Experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel environment and/or a Forbes Travel Guide-rated establishment is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in the same position is required.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are considered an asset.
