Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Wellness to join our team at the Verdala Wellness Hotel - AX Privilege, our luxury Wellness Hotel. The ideal candidate will be passionate about health and wellness and possess a creative mindset combined with strong leadership skills. As the Head of Wellness, you will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative wellness programmes and strategies to enhance guest experiences, promote holistic well-being, and drive overall satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive wellness department that caters to the diverse needs and preferences of our guests and staff across the property.
  • Implement and manage spa’s daily quality process including goal communication, associate improvement, service recovery and problem resolution. Disseminate feedback from comment cards, guest satisfaction and service failure measurements and coach accordingly.
  • Collaborate closely with department heads and property managers to integrate wellness offerings seamlessly into the guest experience, ensuring consistency and alignment with the brand's values and standards.
  • Curate a diverse array of wellness programmes, activities, and services that encompass physical, mental, and emotional well-being, fostering a sense of serenity and balance among guests.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of wellness programmes and offerings, soliciting feedback from guests and staff to drive continuous enhancement and refinement. 
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with external vendors, wellness experts, and industry influencers to enhance the quality and breadth of wellness offerings. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines governing wellness services, prioritising guest safety, satisfaction, and well-being.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, research, and best practices in the field of wellness hospitality, incorporating innovative ideas and approaches into AX Hotels wellness offerings.
  • Foster a culture of well-being among staff members, providing resources, support, and opportunities for personal and professional growth within the wellness department.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote wellness offerings effectively, leveraging digital platforms, social media, and targeted campaigns to attract guests and drive revenue.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Wellness, Health Sciences, or a related field, or recognised certifications in wellness modalities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Certification in areas such as mindfulness, nutrition, fitness, or mental health (preferred).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of wellness programmes, with an ability to build rapport with guests and staff.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing wellness programmes tailored to individual needs.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is required, preferably within a luxury wellness environment or a Forbes Travel Guide-rated establishment.
  • Strong budget management skills and the ability to maximise revenue from wellness services.
  • Familiarity with diverse cultural practices related to wellness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective engagement.
  • Ability to lead and manage teams, with a focus on staff training and development.
  • A personal commitment to health and wellness, serving as a positive example.
