Senior Fitness Instructor
Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Fitness Instructor to join our team at the Verdala Wellness Hotel - AX Privilege. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of fitness training techniques and a commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle. As a Senior Fitness Instructor, you will lead group classes, provide personalised training sessions, and develop fitness programmes tailored to our guests’ individual needs and wellness goals.
Responsibilities:
- Design and lead advanced fitness classes and training sessions, incorporating a variety of exercises, equipment, and training modalities to challenge and motivate participants.
- Provide personalised fitness assessments and consultations to guests, helping them set realistic goals and develop individualised workout plans tailored to their needs and abilities.
- Mentor and guide junior fitness instructors, providing feedback, support, and professional development opportunities to help them grow and succeed in their roles.
- Collaborate with the Wellness Manager to develop specialised fitness programmes and workshops targeting specific populations or fitness goals, such as seniors, athletes, or individuals with medical conditions.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations and assessments of fitness programmes and classes, soliciting feedback from participants and making adjustments as needed to improve effectiveness and satisfaction.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and onboarding of new fitness instructors, ensuring they receive proper orientation, instruction, and support to succeed in their roles.
- Serve as a resource and subject matter expert on fitness and exercise science, providing guidance and expertise to other departments and staff members as needed.
- Stay informed about industry trends, research findings, and best practices in fitness and wellness, incorporating relevant knowledge into programmes development and class instruction.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with guests, providing personalised attention, support, and encouragement to help them achieve their fitness goals and maximise their experience at AX Hotels.
- Adhere to all safety and risk management protocols, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants during fitness classes, training sessions, and other activities.
- Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, progress, and feedback, using data to inform programmes development and decision-making.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications and certifications in fitness instruction (e.g., personal training, group fitness, yoga).
- Strong knowledge of exercise techniques, fitness assessments, and programme development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire guests.
- A passion for health and fitness, along with a commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in the same position is required.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are considered an asset.
