Restaurant Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Restaurant Manager to join our team at the Verdala Wellness Hotel - AX Privilege, our luxury wellness destination. The ideal candidate will have a passion for exceptional dining experiences and possess strong leadership and organisational skills. As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring high standards of service, and managing staff performance. You will also develop and implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction, optimise menu offerings, and drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily restaurant operations to ensure high standards of service and a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
- Implement and adhere to established service protocols and procedures to maintain consistency and efficiency in the dining area.
- Conduct regular checks of the dining area to ensure cleanliness, organization, and a pleasant environment for guests.
- Manage restaurant supplies and equipment efficiently and report any shortages or maintenance needs to the appropriate departments.
- Supervise and coordinate front-of-house staff, maintaining control over their performance and fostering harmony among team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations within the restaurant, including proper food handling practices.
- Respond to guest requests and concerns related to dining in a courteous and timely manner, aiming to enhance their overall experience.
- Monitor restaurant performance and guest feedback, implementing improvements and best practices to maintain high service quality and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Primarily a floor-based role, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional service delivery.
- Experienced in creating and managing staff rosters efficiently.
- Skilled in handling material control, ensuring proper stock levels and inventory management.
- Proven ability to handle customer complaints professionally and promptly, ensuring satisfaction.
- Capable of managing client emails and other administrative tasks as required.
- Experienced in delivering staff training, promoting service excellence.
- Strong conflict resolution skills, managing staff disagreements and fostering a positive team environment.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Previous experience in an à la carte dining environment, with a minimum of 2 years' experience, is required.
- Experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel environment and/or a Forbes Travel Guide-rated establishment is preferred.
- Strong computer skills, able to prepare reports, manage rosters, and handle operational data efficiently.
- Certifications in wine, food safety, or other relevant areas will be considered an asset.
