Kitchen Porter
Job Summary
The Kitchen Porter plays an essential role in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen at AX The Verdala. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation across all kitchen and dishwashing areas. This includes washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils, ensuring equipment is properly stored, and assisting the culinary team with basic food preparation when required. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive, team‑focused attitude are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by ensuring all kitchen areas, surfaces, and equipment remain hygienic and organised.
- Wash dishes and utensils by cleaning pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and kitchen tools efficiently.
- Store equipment properly by ensuring all cleaned items are dried, stored, and organised correctly.
- Support basic food preparation when required by the culinary team.
- Dispose of waste correctly by following hygiene and recycling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness in dining support areas such as service stations and back‑of‑house zones.
- Assist chefs during busy periods to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Always follow food safety and sanitation standards.
- Support stock organisation by helping with deliveries and storage when needed.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain a positive and efficient environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Good physical fitness and ability to lift moderate weights.
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Teamwork and a positive attitude.
- Basic understanding of food safety is considered an asset.
