Pastry Chef de Partie
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at the Verdala Wellness Hotel - AX Privilege. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods that delight our guests. As a Pastry Chef, with an emphasis on catering for all dietary needs, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of pastries and desserts, ensuring all items meet our exceptional standards of taste and presentation. You will manage inventory, maintain a clean and organised workspace, and collaborate with the kitchen team to design seasonal menus that reflect current trends. A commitment to quality, innovation, and attention to detail is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, ensuring consistency in quality, presentation, and taste to meet guest expectations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked pastry station, ensuring that all necessary ingredients and equipment are available and in good working condition.
- Follow established recipes and preparation protocols, ensuring efficiency during service and maintaining a professional kitchen atmosphere.
- Conduct routine checks of the pastry area to ensure it remains tidy, organised, and inviting for kitchen staff and guests.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on dessert options based on guest preferences, creating a tailored and enjoyable experience.
- Report any shortages in ingredients or equipment maintenance needs promptly to the Executive Chef or relevant departments.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations in the pastry area, including proper handling of ingredients and equipment.
- Address guest requests and concerns related to desserts in a courteous and timely manner, aiming to enhance their overall dining experience.
- Monitor guest feedback related to desserts and suggest improvements to maintain high standards of service and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and presentation.
- Ability to create and execute a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Creativity and a passion for experimenting with new recipes and flavour combinations.
- Experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel environment and/or a quality patisserie is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in the same position is required.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are considered an asset.
